    ABOUT RYAN

Ryan StahlRyan Stahl is an experienced graphic and web designer who is always looking for innovative ways to create attractive, user-friendly interfaces for multimedia solutions. As an early-adopter of HTML, he has been working with code in many languages, including JavaScript, for well over a decade.

Ryan attended Alma College, a private college located in Alma, in central Michigan. Here he took art classes on top of the required course load and developed his talent for design. During his time at the college, he was also an integral part in the creation of multimedia projects viewed by the public. Here he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.

He has completed works now utilized by large companies, such as Dow Chemical and Plante & Moran, as well as various local governments and non-profit organizations.

As a Michigan-native, Ryan developed a love for photographing in nearly every part of his state. A favorite area would be a toss-up between the Keweenaw Peninsula and Mackinac Island, both in northern Michigan. After spending some time in Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York and New Jersey, his catalog of photos only grows larger.

When thinking about what to do with some of these photos, and to demonstrate his graphical and multimedia abilities, the idea of a website was conceived to marry all of these talents together into one strong, public presentation. The look of the site was visualized, parts were drawn on paper, and design began in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The intended look and feel of the site could be best described as 1940's art deco style, which was decided on due to the rapid-rise of automobile-related advertising post World War II. The site has been created in such a fashion that more states can be easily added after future photo journeys.

As for future projects, one is already in the early stages of development. It will be a tribute to mass transit systems and is intended to focus on the state of Michigan.
